"Dear Lisa, My name is Lisa Ellstrom, I attended the beautiful memorial service yesterday and I'm sorry that I did not get a chance to tell you personally how truly sorry I 'am for the loss of your husband. I grew up on 130th and 6th NW, Broadview. Trygve was a year older than me but I have such fond memories of who he was to me as a child growing up and was deeply saddened when I heard that he had passed. I did not know Trygve passed high school but my childhood memories of him are unmistaken. He was the quintessential person who was just always, always nice, funny to a fault, wore his emotions on his sleeve and was just a person who I will always remind me of one of those special childhood friends that makes me smile when I think of him. Sincerely yours, Lisa"

" To any of you that missed Trygve's 'Celebration of Life'; You were there in spirit. I thought I would share this (below) spoken by the really funny, Pastor Gary; the room was full with about 280 people (or more), lots of Love, laughs, stories and tears. Thank you to everyone that was there; it means the world to me! 1:55 Song playing, 'Tree Top Flyer' by Stephen Stills. Trygve was born on August 18th, 1964 at Cabrini Hospital in Seattle, Washington to Harold and Betty Hill; he already had a 20 year old Brother Arne, and Sister's Peggy and Marylou. Trygve enjoyed a childhood with lots of family gatherings, some cousins, laughter, games, kiddy pools, pup tents, toys, books, tricycles, homemade meals and lots of cookies. There was always a plethora of activity in that big house that made it quite entertaining for everyone. He was surrounded by many friends that he naturally made in the 'neighborhood', with bicycle gangs, skateboards, a unicycle, exploring Carkeek Park, invading each other's homes and swimming any time they had a chance. They could roam free in the safe Broadview neighborhood and they always had somebody's 'Mother' looking out for them. If there was trouble it was usually known before they made it home. How many of you have known Trygve since he was born? How many of you grew-up in the neighborhood? How many of you became friends with Tryg in grade school? How about Junior High and High School? There was lots of Family fishing trips, camping trips (most the time with a rented camper), backyard Bar-B-Ques, bee hives, apple trees (that came with lots of homemade pies), running, hanging-out with all those friends, movie nights with the good-old-fashion slide shows in the living room and yes; as most American families, they had a station wagon! They spent many vacations chasing Big Brother Arne and family in various cities he was working in. Ma Betty was quite the seamstress, so Trygve got to wear a lot of homemade clothes and continued to consume larger amounts of those fantastic homemade meals. He savored the time he spent with his Dad logging, fishing, chopping wood golfing and he learned many of his carpentry skills along his side. After Trygve's Father passed, he devoted a lot of heart being there for his Mom. They seemed to cohabit ate well and helped each other in many ways. There was a revolving door with Family, Arne, Marylou, Peggy and their Families, Tryg's many friends and his Mom's social activities. He spent endless hours fixing and maintaining his Mother's home; that made him proud and gave him a lot of purpose too follow his Father's footsteps. He became a very good cook, loved to smoke salmon, had a BIG heart and had an infectious laugh that I hope none of us forget. He loved kids, puppy-dogs, the elderly and little blond girls. He was the BEST hugger in the world and could fix almost anything. He had a very high IQ, was a walking dictionary and historian, read at least 4,000 books, completed most crossword puzzles within 10 minutes IN PEN and his favorite color is orange; only 3% of the Worlds populations favorite color in orange. Trygve graduated from Ingraham high school in 1982, (Lisa accidentally had 1964; Pastor Gary was promptly corrected), then was accepted in the Nuclear program of the U.S. Navy where he completed three courses as Boiler Technician, Operator and Maintenance. The big gray boat 'The Wabash' took him to Hawaii, The Philippines, Australia, Korea, Japan and across the Equator. He then became a Shipwright Carpenter, Salmon fished in Alaska on the Darlene and then had a Independent Contracting business for 20n years called Constructive Solutions, Inc.; doing Residential Remodels, Additions and Maintenance. How many of you had Constructive Solution's fix your homes? Then there was Lisa! They got married on an 'Above average Rainy Seattle Day' on October 4, 1997. Thank goodness the tent was delivered the day before and they loved every minute of it! How many were at Trygve and Lisa's wedding? They bought a cottage in Richmond Beach and developed a strong unconditional Love and Friendship for each other that Lisa will be forever grateful. They worked hard, had a busy social life with Families and Friends and laughed a LOT. They lived within their means and tried to maintain a low stress lifestyle. Trygve had names for Lisa such as Turtle Dove, Doll Face, Dumplin', My Fiber Fairy and would say, "Lisa, I Love you more than Life itself". The first time They went to Mexico, Lisa taught Trygve to say, "Mi Esposa Bonita Lisa" and asked him," When anyone talks to you in Spanish; just say this". They would laugh like crazy and then looked at Lisa and laugh more; it means 'My Beautiful Wife Lisa'! He was an instant hit and he was so fun to play and joke around with like this. They had their ups and downs, as any relationship, but did well together. Most of the best times were weekend getaways and vacations. Lisa and Tryg loved their Holidays together to California, Mexico several times, Florida, Montana several times, Hawaii, Oregon, Canada, The Virgin Islands, Washington and their fantastic Honeymoon in the Cayman Islands. "December 20, 2016 It is with the heaviest of hearts that I bid a farewell to my Brother Trygve Hill who past away in his sleep on Monday. Tryg was in a difficult place the last few years but in my heart he will live on as a big gregarious Viking who had a disdain of mint and modern technology. He loved reading and language and did the NY times crossword daily, IN PEN, (he would remind me). Tryg had an infectious laugh and a deep love for my Sister Lisa Hill, for which I am eternally grateful, I believe that the term Soulmate never was more applicable to any couple more then Tryg & Lisa. I miss you deeply my Brother, I can hear your Laughter, I hope it never leaves me, Skol! Via FaceBook from Lisa's Brother, Randal Groves"

"Today's celebration of life for Trygve was so special. The room was filled with love for him. The tributes by Jim and Lisa were wonderful and the stories shared by others taught us all something we may not have known about Tryg, or were reminded of a forgotten memory. Though he was taken too soon and will be missed by all, we hope that he's at peace now, looking out for all of us and catching up on crosswords IN PEN. Joanne & Duane"

"Trygve, we had a lot of fun growing up next door to each other, even with your Mom and Dad ( Betty & Hal ) and mine ( Ingrid & Jack ) keeping an eye on us we still managed to get in a little trouble, but boy we sure had fun growing up there. Doesn't seem that long ago that your Mom leaning out the back porch telling us to 'go wash your paws' because it was time to eat or us working on some project in Dads workshop or shooting baskets in a game of 'horse' with our Dads by the garage. I laugh when I think of the big money ideas we had like collecting tons of newspapers for months & when that didn't pan out we decided glass bottle collecting was where the money was- lol Many great memories Trygve. Good bye for now Trig but we will see you again. "

"Tryg, though I haven't seen you in so many years, the world is a sadder place for me knowing that you're gone. I remember you from the time you were born..growing into the bear size guy you became. Now I picture you sitting at the Hill family kitchen table along with your mom, dad and Arne, where so much laughter and love was shared. ? "

"Trig was an awesome guy. I remember when we (Trig, Pecca, and a couple other guys) went up to Stevens Pass during the winter of 1982. On our trip to Stevens, we quenched our thirst with appropriate liquids (Rainiers), enjoyed easy listening music: Blizzard of Oz (with a cassette tape) and discussed important matters in our world; the best bud. Trig got us safely to the mountain and the rest of the time is rather blurry in my memory but I had a total blast. I adored Trygve. I could always count on Trig to give me a smile and gentle bear hug even when I told dumb jokes and/or embarrassed myself. Trygve, you were "the hooch" and I will miss you. Much love to your family.
