Cole Hulin passed away at Overlake Hospital on December 22, 2016 after a valiant battle against his health. He was born in Spokane, WA on June 25, 1939 to Howard and Melva Hulin. He lived in Spokane until the family moved to Cle Elum, WA. In 1947 the family moved to Bellevue, WA where Cole attended Bellevue High School and played on the varsity football team. He attended Seattle University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.
He spent the majority of his life as an Eastside resident where he raised his children, supported their numerous activities and volunteered as a Little League Baseball Coach. Cole also earned an MBA while working at Puget Sound Power and Light through City College. After working for Puget Power for 37 years, he embarked on an active retirement that included international travel to Europe, China, and Japan. He enjoyed cross country skiing, biking in the San Juan Islands, golfing, and sailing. For many years, he was an avid sailor, racing in Swiftsure races and navigating the waters of Puget Sound in his sailboat. He was also an avid Seattle sports fan and faithfully followed the Sounders, Seahawks, Mariners, and Huskies. Pets were very important to him and in his lifetime he affectionately cared for horses, birds, dogs, and cats, all of whom loved his trustworthy companionship. In later years, he enjoyed reading and his Kindle was never far from reach.
Cole was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Melva Hulin, wife Joni Hulin and a son. He is survived by his best friend and devoted wife of 27 years, Christy Hulin, sister Diane Rochelle, six children (Cris, Karen, Mark, Nicole, Heidi and Matthew) and twelve grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Anglican Church, 17371 NE 24th Street, Redmond, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society or Macaw Rescue & Sanctuary at http://macawrescueandsanctuary.org

"Cole was Puget Sound Energy's South King County Division Administrator during a crazy transition period of the Company. I reported to him as Service Center Administrator and always appreciated his common sense approach to any issue that arose. He was always fair, thorough and easy to work with. Many of us were sad when our friend left PSE, but glad he had the best of life thereafter. Too soon to lose. Sincerely, Susanna Gilbert"
