Edna M. Adams died peacefully on December 31 at Bickford Cottage in Ames, IA.

A Mass of Celebration of her life will be at 10:30 Friday, January 6, 2017 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. A rosary at 9:15 and visitation at 9:30 will be held prior to the service. Burial will be at the Ames Municipal Cemetery following the service.

Edna was born December 24, 1920, in Ames, Iowa, to Peter and Harriett Pantenburg. Following graduation from Ames High School in 1938, she was employed by Union Story Bank and for many years as a bookkeeper at Carr Hardware.

Edna married Henry Adams on August 18, 1962, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Ames. She and Henry resided on the family farm near Cambridge until the passing of Henry in 2009 when Bickford Cottage in Ames became her new home.

Over the years Edna enjoyed attending auctions searching for collectibles/antiques, gardening, sewing/quilting and helping Henry on the farm.

She is survived by 13 nieces and 2 nephews. Local nieces are Kay (Steve) Wessman, Aggie (Terry) Krausman and Karla (Warren) Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry, her sister Agatha Varnum and her husband Fred Varnum and her brother Charles Pantenburg and his wife Mary Pantenburg.

Memorials may be directed to St. Cecilia Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
