Norman Wolf

Norman S. Wolf, DVM, PhD, was born in Kansas City MO on July 22, 1927 and passed away in Seattle on January 24, 2017. After his enlisted service in 1945-7, he completed his BS and DVM (valedictorian) degrees at Kansas State University and then became the laboratory animal veterinarian at Northwestern University (Chicago) while he earned a PhD in experimental pathology. He was an expert in radiation biology and made many advances in understanding cellular changes during aging. He held posts in Paris, Oak Ridge, and Houston before his final position at the University of Washington, from which he retired in 2011. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he was a kind and generous man, beloved by his friends and family. He is survived by his wife Sue (Seattle), his son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Michele (Bellingham WA) and his sister Harriette Denebeim (Overland Park).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ACLU or ACLU Foundation.
