"To the Heeren family...I am Jeanette and Darwin Collins' daughter, Candy Culp, and I want to echo what my sister, Patti Persons wrote about Dorothy and Carl. I have lived in another state for several years, but it seemed that whenever I went "home" for a visit, I would run into them somewhere. It used to be when I would join Mom and Dad for coffee in Dumont or Arizona, in church, a hospital room, or just when they would stop for a visit. I just loved Dorothy, and my sis was so right when she spoke of her calming, quiet ways, and smile....oh that smile...I never saw her without it! Mary, you may remember me from years back when we were young. I remember being at your house, and your Mom was the same sweet lady back then. I can tell you this...Our mother (and father) is grieving the loss of such a dear friend, and looks forward to the day when they can talk again."
"SO SORRY TO HEAR OF SUCH A GREAT LOSS IN YOUR FAMILY..MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU..CHAD VAN DYKE"
"Dorothy was one of sweetest ladies our family has known. She and Carl were at our mom's side in every hospital in Arizona, Hampton, and Mason City and comforted and encouraged with her calming, quiet ways and smile. Our whole family will miss her very much and our hearts hurt with and for Carl and the whole Heeren family. Praying that the Lord will hold you close, comfort and heal. Patti Persons and the Collins Family"
