Sandy Shirk, 58, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away March 12, 2010, at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, in Mason City, Iowa. She was born August 17, 1951, in Charles City, Iowa, to Richard Charles and Marjorie Ann (Demro) Hanson. Sandy graduated from Cedar Falls High School and attended Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls. She was united in marriage to Denny Shirk on November 1, 1970, in Janesville, Iowa. Sandy worked as a bookkeeper at the Wal-Mart in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and spending time with her two sons and ten grandchildren was her greatest joy. Sandy also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She is survived by her husband Denny Shirk of Hampton, son Charles and wife Sarah Shirk of Hampton, son Christopher and wife Leia Shirk of Hampton, sister Linda and husband Merville Blakesley of Lebanon, Tennessee, sister Julie and husband Rick Williamson of Cedar Falls, sister Laura and husband Kevin Quintus of Hampton, ten grandchildren Taylin, Triston, Reece, Dalton, Trinity Alyssa, Camden, Oliva, Wesley and Sienna, brother-in-law Bob and wife Bev Shirk of Tuscon Arizona, brother-in-law Gale and wife Marilyn Shirk of Tuscon, Arizona, brother-in-law Lynn and wife Bobbi Shirk, of Spring Branch, Texas, sister-in-law Sue Shirk of Janesville and many nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, mother & father-in-law and brother-in-law Charles Shirk.
