Doris Greimann, age 87 of Spirit Lake, IA and formerly of the Elmore and Blue Earth area passed away in her home Friday October 12, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday October 19 at the Jacobsen & Winter Funeral Home in Blue Earth with Dr. Martin Lucian officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.
Doris D. Greimann, age 87, of Spirit Lake, IA and formerly of Swea City, IA died Friday October 12, 2012 at her residence in Spirit Lake.

Doris Dorine Klatt was born on November 25, 1924 in Elmore, MN, the daughter of Maynard and Frieda (Ziegler) Klatt. She grew up on the family farm near Elmore. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Johns Lutheran Church, rural Elmore. She attended parochial school at St. John’s and graduated from Elmore High School in 1943. She was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.
Doris was united in marriage to Milton F. Greimann on December 6, 1944 in Blue Earth, MN. To this union, three children were born. After Milton’s military service they farmed in rural Faribault County and in 1955 moved to Swea City. Doris was a homemaker and mother; after her children were raised she began working at Exceptional Opportunities in Burt as a teachers aide. She then worked at the Algona High School until her retirement in 1993. Milton passed away on November 2, 1991.
She enjoyed their summer cottage for over 40 years at Spirit Lake and also enjoyed winters in Mesa, AZ. She moved to Spirit Lake permanently in 1997 where she still resided until her passing. Some of her hobbies were playing cards, reading, baking and working on puzzle books.
Doris is survived by two sons; Dean of Wayzata, MN, Paul of Los Angeles, CA and one daughter; Lynn (Harley) Hassebroek of Buffalo Center, IA. Two step-grandchildren; Johnathan (Stephanie) Hassebroek and Lauren Hassebroek. One step-great grandchild. Sister Marlys Bowles of Denver, CO, sister-in-law Carmen Klatt of Blue Earth, MN as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Milton, her parents and brother Virgil.
