Caramel Bauer became a part of Derek & Bethany's lives almost 9 years ago. Originally, a gift to Bethany's mom, Caramel found himself attached to Derek once introduced to the family in 2007. Derek & Bethany officially made Caramel a part of their family in 2008 and since then they were inseparable.
Caramel was a happy, calm, and patient dog. He loved to be loved and enjoyed taking naps, cuddled with a soft blanket. He knew he was a good boy and anticipated a treat with a soft growl to remind you he was waiting for one.
Over the past year he had trouble using stairs or jumping up on objects too high. Over the last weekend with his family, he stopped eating and drinking which was highly unlike him.
Bethany & Derek both left work early on Monday, March 13th, 2017. Caramel was diagnosed with cancer and had a bleeding tumor in his chest. Caramel laid on the veterinarian table with soft towels and blankets and was comforted with ear rubs, which were his favorite. He loved them so much he would push his head in to get a deeper rub. Bethany & Derek stayed with him the entire time, by his side, as Caramel would do the same - always be by their side.
He will be missed deeply by all those who he met.
