Bernard "Bill" Peschke
September 14, 1934 - April 4, 2017

Bernard "Bill" Peschke,Jr. of White Lake, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 82 years old. He was born on September 14, 1934 in Chicago, IL a son of Bernard and Esther (Puhala) Peschke. He married Elaine Grandt on June 9, 1958 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, McHenry, Illinois. She survives.

He was a graduate of McHenry High School with the class of 1952 and went on to attend Marquette University for two years.

Bernie served in the United States Army from March 24, 1954 until discharge on January 7, 1956 having served in Korea.

He returned to McHenry, where he worked for road construction companies as a truck driver. He retired in 1996 and three years later moved to White Lake.

He raised beef cattle for 35 years and frequently donated meat to food pantries.

Faith was a daily focus for Bernie. He was a member of St. James and Stanislaus Catholic Parish and volunteered at the White Lake Area Food Pantry.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, a skill he taught to each of his children and grandchildren.

Survivors including his wife are three daughters, Susan (Wayne) Willis, Crystal Lake, Illinois, Jane Manny, Wonder Lake, Illinois, Laurie Peschke, Mesa, Arizona; three sons, Bernard (Mari) Peschke, South Elgin, Illinois, Mark Peschke, Chandler, Arizona, Daniel Peschke, Antigo; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Ann Hogan of Mountain; a brother, Alan (Sandy) Peschke, New Hampshire.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson; a son-in-law, Brett Manny; a brother, Gerald Peschke.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in White Lake with Rev. Roger Strebel officiating. The White Lake Veterans will conduct military rites following services at church.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
