Doris Schwamb
February 21, 1931 - April 8, 2017

Doris E. Schwamb, of Mattoon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 86 years old. She was born on February 21, 1931 in Mountain, a daughter of the late Thomas and Edith (Jones) Lowery.

She was a graduate of Wabeno High School.

Doris was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mattoon.

She loved to read, watch soap operas, and gamble.

Doris is survived by four children, Vicki (Ken) Fuller of Pearson, Debbie (Floyd) Sporleder of Muskego, Clayton (Sharon) Paul Jr. of Franklin and Sharlene (Thomas) Gimler of Mukwonago; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Duane of Manitowoc, Gerald (Geneivive) of Lakewood, Neil of Lakewood and Larry (Mary) of Sanmateo, Italy; a sister, Lorraine Lowery of Tomah; a brother-in-law, Mel Pordon of Lakewood; a sister-in-law, Margaret Lowery of Townsend; many other relative and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard and Thomas; a sister Jean Pordon and a grandson, Anthony Bohn

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 12 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Mattoon with Rev. Dr. Dean Bertsch officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 13 at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

The family extends a special thank you to Pam Sipple, Jim and Janice Peasley, LeRoyer Hospice and Aspirus Langlade Hospital for the care they provided to Doris.
