Dorothy Maude (Palmer) Capps of Hollywood, Florida, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at her sons' home in Davie, Florida.

Dorothy Maude (Palmer) Capps was born on January 5, 1925 in Plant City, Florida; Daughter of Sallie Maude (Gause) Palmer and John Henry Palmer.
She was one of seven siblings; Brothers; John Henry Palmer, Everett Palmer, Willard Duvall Palmer, Dr. Richard Palmer Sisters; Audrey (Palmer) Reynolds, Varian (Palmer) Rutledge.

Dorothy worked for the Florida State Unemployment Agency in Tarpon Springs, Florida. It is there that she met and married her husband, Charles A. Capps Jr., who was employed with Publix Super Markets, Inc. They were married in 1950 and started a family; Dorothy became a homemaker, mother and an active member of her church HHUMC for 53 years. In 1980's Dorothy started to work for Publix in their ATM Division where she remained for 5 years then retired.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved sons; Charles A. Capps III, of Davie, Florida and John H. Capps, of Miramar, Florida. Brother; Dr. Richard Palmer, of Gainesville, Florida Sister-in-law; Mrs. Joetta Palmer, of Brookesville, Florida Daughter-in-law; Pamela B. Capps, of Davie, Florida, Grandchildren; Charles A. Capps IV and Giselle Capps of Davie, Florida, Jessica (Capps) Martin and Preston Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jennifer Capps of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Great Grandson; Charles A. Capps V of Davie, Florida Many Nieces and Nephews who she loved and kept in close contact until her passing.

The family will receive friends of Friday, April 21, 2017, at Fred Hunter Hollywood Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M.

Funeral Service: Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church, 400 N. 35th Avenue, Hollywood, Florida 33021 on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Luncheon after service then graveside to follow. Hollywood Memorial Gardens 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024.
