Stella Fusco
October 14, 1912 - November 30, 2011

Stella (Mirabella) Fusco, 99, of Kingston, NY, died peacefully, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was born October 14, 1912 in East Kingston, to the late Vincenzo and Rosina (Zarella) Mirabella.

She was married to her loving husband Mark R. Fusco who passed away in 1949.

Stella was a chef for the Flamingo Restaurant in Saugerties for over 30 years. Stella was the namesake and inspiration for Stella's Italian Restaurant in Kingston and Stella's Station in Saugerties. She had been a member of the Children of Mary and was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Kingston.

She liked to embroider and crochet. She especially loved cooking for family and friends.

Stella is survived by her daughter Barbara Burns and her husband Edward of Kingston, grandchildren, Kelly Burns, Mark Burns, Jamie Cummins and her husband Lee, Michael Burns and Katharine Burns, her great-granddaughter Lily Rose as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her siblings; Mary, Fanny, Joseph, Michael, Thomas and Adeline.

Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser, A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, NY 12401, where friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 6 pm.

The funeral procession will form on Monday at 10 am at the funeral home and then proceed to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church where at 11:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will take place on Tuesday at 11am at Assumption St. Paul Cemetery in Mechanicville, NY.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Foundation, Inc., Memorial Gift Program, 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401.
