Gino Simone DiMartino, born September 16th, 1955 in Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away peacefully at his Florida residence on July 22nd, 2016. Gino was the son of the late Luigi Gino DiMartino and Giovanna M. DiMartino. He graduated from Marist College and went on to receive his masters in social work from Adelphi University. He then went to work at Yonkers City School District as a social worker until his retirement. He belonged to several rod and gun clubs. He is survived by his daughter Melanie L. DiMartino, his brother Carmelo C. DiMartino and his wife Marie DiMartino, his nieces, Nicole T. DiMartino and Daniella M. DiMartino of Highland, NY and his aunt Giuseppina Vecchio of Sicily. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on August 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Route 9W, Esopus, NY. Followed immediately by a gathering at Molly Rose Pub next door to the church. "My brothers and I remember Gino from his days in Esopus. Unfortunately we lost touch. I was in a class with Gino at Marist back in 1974 or 75. My brother Michael who now lives in Washington State tutored Gino about 1962 or 63. Our condolences to his family. "
