Herman Berg of West Chestnut St. and Ft. Pierce, FL died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at home. He was 75. He was born in Germany, a son of the late Karl and Adele Fischer Berg. Herman served in the Army Reserves and retired from IBM in Poughkeepsie as a safety manager. He was an avid fisherman. He served for six years on the Kingston Zoning Board and was a member of the Elks Club #1520 in Florida and an active member of the Ft. Pierce South Beach Association and the Italian Club in Poughkeepsie. On July 15, 1962 he married Fannie Fondino in St. Joseph's Church, Glasco. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Diana Bartells of Monticello; Alicia Benner and her husband Ronald Jr. of Delmar; one grandson, James Benner; two sisters, Irene Hoffmann of Ontario, Canada; Emma Deitchman of Florida and a brother, Edmund Berg of Hurley. Two sisters, Elfrieda Clark, Melita Zell and a brother, Richard Berg died previously. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston where friends will be received on Sunday from 3 - 6 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 5:30 PM.
