"My condolencesto Susan and children and all the Fitzgeralds. Jim was a great guy. I still cherish our teenage times at Sacandaga. I'll never foget the time he beat 3 of us in basketball, even if he was 4 years older. It was the type of challenge he relished.

"I am saddened to hear of his passing. Mr. Fitzgerald was one of the nicest people I ever had the privileged to know. I?m sure he didn?t know it, but when I was younger I always admired the love and commitment he had for his family. Always told myself I would do my best to mirror that when I had a family of my own. I?ll always be grateful for that. Rest in Peace.
My deepest condolences

"My heart goes out to my dear sweet sister Susan and her three beautiful children. Also to all my brave and strong brother- inlaw's father, sisters, brothers and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
I will always remember Jim enjoying sitting on my mother and father's back porch in the summer having some beers, being with family listing to oldies on the radio. The kids running all around ridding bikes, having grandpa push them in the wheelbarrel, playing ball and eating hot dogs and hamburgers. The kids would fall asleep on the family room floor and the adults would sit for hours talking, laughing and just enjoying life. My mother had a sign on her porch that said "These Are The Good Times." These really were the best times and the times I cherrish especially when it come to my bigger than life brother-inlaw.
Also I remember the summer's I would take my children down to New Jersey to stay at their Aunt Susan and Uncle Jim's house. My kids could not wait to get there. Susan and Jim always would welcome us and take us into their home and we would have such a great time going to the beach, amusement parks, playing ball and having cookouts. We loved them so much and my children have such great memories of these times.
Jim was not just a brother-inlaw to me, he was my brother and helped me through so many hard times. I love him so much for all he has done for me and my family, it just breaks my heart he is gone. I will alway miss him but am happy he no longer has to go through so much pain and suffering.
I hope he is in heaven right now having a few beers with friends and family and listing to oldies on the radio. I love you my brother Jim.
A"
