Linda L. Messenger, of Marbletown, NY, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Benedictine Hospital, Kingston, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 70. She was born in Oneonta, NY a daughter of the late Leslie and Rita Kane Stewart. Linda was a claims processor for United Health Care in Kingston. She loved power-boating and touring the Hudson and Lake Champlain and Lake George. She was an avid NASCAR fan. Surviving is her husband, Robert Messenger; her daughter, Denice Willens of Coral Springs, FL; her son Scott Messenger and his wife Diane of Cota de Caza, CA; two brothers, Richard Stewart and his wife Katie of Deerfield Beach, FL and Thomas Stewart of Binghamton, NY. Linda was the proud grandmother of Tyler, Ryan and Ellie Willens and Mark and Morgan Messenger. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Two brothers, Douglas and Dennis Stewart died previously. Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston. Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. At 8:00 PM, a memorial service will be conducted by Deacon Richard Frohmiller. Inurnment in Hurley Cemetery will be private.
