Cory Michael Looney, 31, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2017, in Auburn, Wash.
Cory was born April 24, 1986, and grew up in Lynwood, Washington. He graduated cum laude from Port Angeles High School, where he played varsity football and was a two-time Washington State qualifier for wrestling. He then attended Middlebury College on an academic scholarship in 2004.
He moved to Olympia in his early 20's where he resided for many years, enjoying the outdoors, rock climbing, landscaping and traveling. Cory graduated from Evergreen State College in 2016, with a bachelor's degree in Sustainable Science.
For those that knew him, he was a dreamer, a scholar and an accomplished writer. His passion for music lead to many travel adventures where he danced in the rain and enjoyed different areas of the country. He cared about everyone in his life and the memories they shared. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents Theodore and Lexie, his siblings, Cody, Cristin and Chelsea, his grandma Betty Whitmore, grandpa Bob Looney, and extended family and friends.
