On May 22, 2017, after a yearlong battle with gallbladder cancer, Kristina (Schroeder Williamson) Day, passed away. She was surrounded by some of the many people who loved her.
Kristina's passing closely follows that of her parents, Lester and Linda Schroeder, of Rocklin, CA, in summer of 2015. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob, daughter, Audrey, her sisters, Lucy Bencivengo and Karen Myers, many nephews and nieces and an abundance of friends.
Kristina was born and raised in Rocklin, California, graduating from Roseville High School in 1982. After graduation, she attended California State University, Chico. This lead to a 20+ year career in hotel management. She later decided to finish her Bachelor's degree at Chico and then completed the teaching credential program at CSU Fresno. Kristina was a beloved teacher at St. Albans Day School in Roseville, CA. She mentored many students through the rigors in early mathematics and traveled with students on trips to the east coast and to the Shakespeare Festival in Oregon.
In 2011, Kristina followed another passion when she graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Cooking and Culinary School in Seattle, Washington. She became a professional chef at Google in Kirkland, Washington.
In 2012, Kristina married the love of her life, Bob Day, in a festive celebration filled with family, friends, dancing, laughter and lots of candy! Kristina and Bob were thrilled to become parents to their beautiful daughter, Audrey Quinn in 2015. Being a wife and mother made Kristina happier than she'd ever been. She got so much joy out of motherhood... she and Audrey enjoyed sign language classes, Mommy and Me swim classes, Wiggle, Clap and Sing music groups and playgroups.
Kristina loved life...she enjoyed playing tennis, traveling with friends and family, listening to comedian, Jim Gaffigan, cooking, playing card and board games, going to live theater and concerts, shopping, sipping a Slurpee, going out to eat, and collecting retro decor. But most, Kristina loved being with friends and family!
Many angels came into Kristina's life. Heartfelt thanks to her friend, Michelle Cereghino for her care, friendship and love throughout Kris's illness. Special thanks also go to the staff in the Oncology and IR departments at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington, for their loving dedication to Kristina's care. Thanks go to all of the friends and family who have stepped in over the past few months to share their love with the Day family!
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity or to a cancer research foundation in Kristina's memory.
A celebration of Kristina's life will be held at 5pm on October 7 2017 at the home of Suzanne Risse.

"Kristina was a very special person, filled with kindness and love and generosity. I was lucky to know her and be a part of her life in the last four years. I was lucky enough to meet her when she had already found true love with her soul mate. I got to work with her and see her amazing talent and passion she brought to her work. I got to see her bring Audrey into this world, and be the most loving Mother to her child. I got to experience her true gratitude at life giving her such great gifts and she ALWAYS showed appreciation and generosity for her good fortune. When I saw her last, she was sick, but still herself and I will miss her terribly. I send condolences to Bob, the love of her life and to her family which she cherished. And most of all to her darling daughter Audrey, who encompasses all that Kristina was in her loving and sweet spirit. and smile. She will be missed and loved, but never forgotten. "
