Garry Lee Wade
September 9, 1968 - January 15, 2017

Ladora- Garry Lee Wade was born September 9, 1968 in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Samuel Frank and Dorothy Maxine (Elick) Wade. He attended English Valleys Schools and graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1987. He has resided in Ladora for the last 20 years. On October 21, 2006 Garry was united in marriage to Kelly Jo Taylor at the American Legion Hall in Oxford. He worked for Pilot Flying J as a transport driver. Garry was volunteer firefighter with the Ladora Fire Department and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed working on his truck, 4 wheelers, fast cars, muddin', teaching his dog Jake to count and mostly picking on his wife. Garry died on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home in Ladora at the age of 48 years.

Garry is survived by his wife Kelly of Ladora; his children Krystal O'Kema Wade of Oxford, Elizabeth Lynn Wade of Cedar Rapids, Jessica Jo Chapman of Ladora, Jonathan Keith Chapman of Ladora and Jennifer Jo Chapman of Cedar Rapids; a grandson Perrin Louis Hudson and one on the way; his German shepherd Jake; mother Dorothy White of Ladora; father Samuel Wade of Oxford; four sisters Tonja Beckman of Ladora, Michelle Hamm of Mt. Pleasant, Malinda Wade of Des Moines and Melissa Wade of Oxford; his best friend Brandon Martinson of Ladora and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded by his grandparents.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Powell Funeral Home, North English. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Burial will be in the Piersol Cemetery, rural North English. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home, North English.
