Lawrence Deakin
October 29, 1943 - June 6, 2017

Lawrence "Larry" Deakin, age 73, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away June 6, 2017 in Newnan, Georgia. He was born October 29, 1943 in Sacramento, California. He married Claudia Fleishman from Antigo, daughter of Jim and Elaine Fleischman, in 1962 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church.

He was a retired Air Force Master Sgt. after 22 years of service to his country serving in the Vietnam and Cold wars. Larry was stationed at Antigo Radar Base from December 1961 through November 1965. Other assignments included Labrador, Warner Robins, Georgia; Azores Islands; Topeka, Kansas; and Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas serving as a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and Adoration Adorer. Larry achieved an Associate degree in electronics from Arkansas State University and a Bachelor's degree in business from Park University in Parkville, Missouri. After retirement from the USAF, he was employed at AGL Corporation in Jacksonville, Arkansas as a Technical Writer and Quality Control Manager retiring in 2006.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two son-in-laws.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia Deakin; daughters, Lisa Breedlove and Kimberly Fudge; and sons, Lawrence Deakin, Jr. and Eric Deakin.

Mass was held today at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 16 at the Bradley Funeral Home from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. concluding with a procession to the Queen of Peace Cemetery for a graveside service, with Rev. Judah Pigon, M.F. officiating, and military honors.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Deakin, Jr., Eric Deakin, James Fleischman, Ronnie Duernberger, Rodney Duernberger, and Michael Dailey.
