Elaine M Ryan
March 6, 1920 - June 30, 2017

Elaine Ryan, of Antigo, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at Care Partners under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 97 years old. She was born on March 6, 1920 in Antigo, a daughter of Alfred and Clara (Hittle) Piller. She married John "Jack" Ryan on August 30, 1941 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2002.

She was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1939.

Elaine was a lifelong Antigo resident and was a member of St. John Catholic Church, its Christian Mother's and Altar Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

She enjoyed raising her children and participating in their activities.

For many years she volunteered at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center and was a member of the Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2653, Auxilliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Meg Eiter (Mary Schlautman) of Manitowoc, Jane Henricks of West Salem; two sons, Larry Ryan of Oshkosh, Tim (Thelma) Ryan of Antigo; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Ryan of La Crosse; eleven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Patrick "PJ" Ryan, a son in law, John Henricks, and a daughter, in infancy; a sister, Kathryn Simon; two brothers, John Piller, Othello "Stub" Piller.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday all at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

"I'm so very sorry for your loss its never easy losing a mother no matter how old we get now she's with your dad where I'm sure the whole group welcome her??'-my best memory of your mom is no matter how many times I forgot the recipe for ginger creams she was so patient with me and would repeat the recipe finally one day she said Kathy get a pen and paper and write it down !!
