Irma H Blahnik
November 9, 1927 - June 28, 2017

Irma Blahnik of Antigo, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was 89 years old. She was born on November 9, 1927 in Phlox, a daughter of the late Lyle and Clara (Bissonette) Tatro. She married Milas Blahnik on July 9, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phlox. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2006.

She was employed at Blahnik Manufacturing Company, Weinbrenner Shoe Company Factory, National Tea grocery store and Sheldon's.

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the church choir. She was a member and past president of the Alliance for the Mentally Ill for Lincoln and Langlade Counties, the Langlade homemakers club and a 4-H leader.

Irma enjoyed baking, quilting, knitting, gardening, especially flowers, hiking, skiing and stream fishing. She enjoyed playing bridge, volleyball, golfing and bowling.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Kevin) Zinda of Antigo; a son, Jim (Barbara) Blahnik of Antigo; five grandchildren, Shannon (Jonathan) Richter, Michael (Kyle) Zinda, Bryan (fiancée Katie Farr) Zinda, Danielle Blahnik and Melanie Blahnik; five great grandchildren, Hadassah, Bailey, Kayla, Breelynn and Peyton; four sisters, Elaine (James) Sieckert of Antigo, Betty Polansky of Menominee Falls, Yvonne Peifer of Pewaukee, Jean Meyers of Milwaukee; five brothers, Roger Tatro of White Lake, Daniel (Gwen) Tatro, Conrad (Christine) Tatro, Gary (Joan) Tatro and Kenneth Tatro all of Phlox; two sisters-in-law, Ione Tatro of Phlox and Marion Blahnik of Antigo.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Blahnik; a sister, Lee Ann Wieber; and four brothers, Eugene, LeRoy, Richard and Earl.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday, July 1 at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9 to 11 a.m.

Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

"She was always so energetic. She also really enjoyed downhill skiing. I still have flowers sne shared with me, as well as a quilt she made. Irma was a wonderful aunt"
