"I was so sorry to hear about your mom. When I was in high school your mom gave me a ride to the port Washington tennis academy on many occasions. She was such a young at heart smart cool lady. I am so sorry for your loss. Toni quirk holland"
Our mother and grandmother died on June 30th, 2017 suddenly and unexpectedly in her apartment in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Ulla was a great soul, a woman of character who enjoyed life to the fullest. She died as she had lived, strong, aware, determined and very much the center of our lives. She touched everyone she met and left a lasting impression wherever she went.
In deep sadness she leaves behind her four children:
Ann Frost Woolhiser Tursellino and her husband Joseph Tursellino
Thomas Frost Woolhiser and his wife Lisa Woolhiser with their three children Emily Grace, Jack Thomas and Lauren Brigitte Woolhiser
Britt Frost Pendergast and her husband Steve Pendergast with their children Nicholas Bennett and Henry Thomas Pendergast
Eva Frost Loesche and her husband Thomas Loesche and their children Ernst Alexander, Ann Isabella, Ernst Constantin, Catharina Anne-Marie and Victoria Barbara Loesche.
as well as two surviving siblings Barbro Aina Marianne Svensson and her brother Nils-Peter Frost.
Ulla was born and grew up in Umea, Sweden. After high school she left Sweden to travel and work. She settled in her early twenties in Stony Brook, New York where together with her husband John Allen Woolhiser she raised and brought up their children. In 2002 she moved to Pembroke Pines where she remained until her death.
All her life Ulla loved sports and the challenge of the game. In her younger day she was an avid tennis player and very involved in the local tennis club. She played golf regularly and was also a serious bridge player achieving the honor of Silver Life Master. Most importantly though, Ulla knew how to live and her love and joy of life inspired us all. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed.
May god bless her as she has blessed us.
We do not say goodbye. We carry her in our hearts and thoughts forever.
A celebration of life will be held:
