Sandra L. Smith

Sandra L. Smith, 74, of Burlington, died 7: 00 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Born on November 20, 1942 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Fred and Ruth (Russell) Newcomb. She married Leroy Smith on February 28, 1970, they later divorced.
Mrs. Smith worked for many years in hospital administration and in later years with the handicapped in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed puzzles and was an avid reader.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlene Smalls of Queens, NY; one grandson, Alex Smalls of Queens, NY; two sisters, Sharon Fultner and Vickie Newcomb and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
There will be no funeral services for Mrs. Smith. According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
