Anna Lee Jones
April 10, 1919 - July 31, 2017

Mrs. Anna Lee Jones, 98, of Burlington died at 8:48 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at the Klein Unit of Great River Medical Center.
Born April 11, 1919 in Savannah, Iowa (Davis County) she was the daughter of Gale and Viola Mae (Harris) Lunsford. On February 9, 1941 she married Wilbur Jones in Newton. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2000.
Anna worked at Sylvania for several years and in food service at Horace Mann Middle School for many years.
Anna was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the Church of Christ. Anna and Wilbur never missed a church service. Her faith, and that of Wilbur's, impacted multiple generations in the family and beyond. She loved recipes and cooking and cooked for all the family gatherings. Her fried chicken, pies, and angel food cake with pink frosting brought the family together and also made many friends. Anna loved being domesticated and moving about her home. Her laughter was contagious and her sense of humor unmatched.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Don) Webb of West Burlington and Cheryl (David) Shinn of Burlington; four grandchildren, Michelle Plummer of Burlington, Mark (Jennifer) Webb of Pennsylvania, Matt (Dawn) Shinn of Burlington and Mike (Jennifer) Shinn of Danville; seven great grandchildren, Natalie Webb, Renee Webb, Allison Webb, Carter Shinn, Claire Shinn, Isaac Shinn, and Eli Shinn; one sister, Viva Nace of Ottumwa and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, one brother and two great grandchildren Anna Grace and Chloe Michelle Shinn.
The funeral service for Anna will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 3rd, at Lunning Chapel with her grandsons officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial has been established for the Church of Christ.
