"To Cindy's Loved Ones: I wish I knew the perfect words to say right now, but something tells me there aren't any. It's easy to forget just how fragile life can be and then something like this happens and sadness fills your heart replacing with only memories where your loved one used to be. From Sacred Heart grade school to Columbus High we wore out a path between Hammond & Patton Avenues. We grew up together in a time of transistor radios, slumber parties, endless horse back riding, sock hops, drive in movie theatres, Sailor ballgames, the prom and ever changing hair styles in her Mom Aleathas' hair salon. Sometimes it seems like yesterday I was walking down the aisle in front of her as a bridesmaid at her wedding-what a princess she appeared that day. Later, the excitement when Bradley was welcomed into her & Tim's world in Iowa City. Through the years we stayed in touch, lost touch, and got back in touch again. She squeezed every bit out of life she could and as Sinatra would say "she did it her way" ! What a treasure it was to call her Friend even though it pales in comparison to Sister, Son, or Granddaughter. We will all miss her together as we go forward without her. I wish you peace at this difficult time. Lou Ann (Scharnweber) Swann "

"Brad, I have a couple of really vivid memories of Cindy. One was in the late 1960's/early 70's. I was admiring her long, beautiful and slightly wavy hair. She told me it was real simple...she pulled out a clean, 12 oz size frozen orange juice can with both ends removed. She rolled her hair onto that and put a couple of clips on the ends, used it like a roller. I thought that was pretty cool. The other was being asked to be her flower girl. She gave me a little red purse with a bunch of dimes in it. It was my prized possession for a long time. With love and prayers.....Michelle, Bill, Nicole and Zach Noonan"
