"One of my fondest memories was when he bartended at Rocky's Tap and I at Charlie Browns/Roger's Dog House. I used to run the volleyball program and he always made sure I had a gyro. He was a great cook, one of my better pool partners and an overall great guy. He will be missed. My condolences to all of his family and friends."

"Dear Maly Family, may wonderful memories of Billy, comfort you during this difficult time. Billy and I tended bar during the same time. He at Rock's Tap and I at Charlie Browns/Rogers Dog House. A memory that stands out is Halloween. Billy dressed as a 20's gangster, complete with machine gun. Stopped in and "guest" bartender with me. What a night! Smiles and laughs! Rest in peace Billy. ?"

"I'm so sorry for your loss. I bowled with Billy at the Middleton Sport Bowl. I have a son who's autistic. Billy always made a big deal when my son, David, came with me, talking to him and fist bumping him. David really enjoyed the interaction with Billy. David bowls in Special Olympics competition and Billy came to watch him at one of his meets. It made him feel very special. My thoughts and prayers are with you. "

"My memories of Billy foremost include his wit, and an ability to find a humorous angle on almost anything. He added to that an enthusiasm that was contagious, so you had a hard time not feeling good around him. I'd make my sales call routes around town go past Rocky's Tap just to stop in on his slow times and talk about what was going on. Then there were Happy Hours. Back-to-back episodes of Seinfeld that we'd both seen several times before and we'd say the big punch lines before the actors and start laughing. If we went out at night, Billy always knew which bar had open tables (free pool), which was great by me because I'm kind of cheap. I could beat Billy just often enough to keep it sort of challenging for him. Billy was the ace pitcher and lead-off hitter on our Springfield Old-Timers team. He was a good pitcher, very consistent with good arc. Most of the time you put your speed guys at lead-off, but Billy was average speed and there because of his batting average. His trademark hit was a line drive over the third baseman and under the outfield, and he could do it a lot. Billy was fun to golf with. He had a remarkable ability to hit long irons high in the air. He'd hit a three iron as high as most guys hit a wedge. There's much more, but those are my most memorable. He was a good friend to many, and brightened many of my days. My deepest sympathy to the family, you did an amazing job caring for Bill after the stroke."

"I could not have been more honored that Garret shared your birthday. I know you are with the Big Guy in sky shootin pool and finally being able to be the caring, charismatic human you have always been. My heart is heavy for your family and the ones you left behind, but over joyed for your freedom. Love Always..."
