March 8, 1950 - August 20, 2017

Dale E. Blatchford, Sr., 67, of Newcastle, NE passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his son's home in Ponca, NE.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Gospel Chapel in Newcastle, NE. Burial will be in the Obert Cemetery in Obert, NE. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE.

Dale was born on March 8, 1950 in Newcastle, NE, the son of Delwin and Gladys (Fluent) Blatchford. He graduated from high school in Obert, NE and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. After retirement, he worked for the past two years at Turkey Creek Ranch with his good friend, John Wortmann.

Dale enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his children, Dale (Gina) Blatchford, Jr. of Newcastle, NE, Faith (Scott) Burns of Crooks, SD, Tiffany (Jay) Pettersen of Newcastle, NE and Josh (Laura) Blatchford of Ponca, NE; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Mary Heeren, Lillian (Art) Rickett and Gene (JoAnne) Blatchford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delwin and Gladys Blatchford; and a brother-in-law, Harold Heeren.

"he was a out-going fellow--friendly happy bout the first time I really knew/met him was whenhe delivered equip to fargo and owner of delivery business knew me andasked if he was related to me!!!! we got together that day and he had evening meal wth us and stayed the nite--had a great visit ---traded stories etc. great memory of that day"
