Clarence "Bud" Hayek Sr.
May 2, 1933 - August 22, 2017

Clarence "Bud" Francis Hayek Sr., of Schofield died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born on May 2, 1933 in Phlox, a son of the late Wenzel and Clara (Butler) Hayek.

He served in the United States Army from May 20, 1953 to May 19, 1955.

Mr. Hayek worked for the Arcade Bowling Alley in Antigo for 12 years as a bartender and custodian. He worked for Kolbe and Kolbe in Wausau for four years retiring in 1998.

Bud enjoyed woodworking, gardening and picking blackberries.

Survivors include six children, Frank (Sandy) Hayek of Sheboygan, Debra (Daniel) Brown of Sheboygan, Clarence Hayek Jr., of Wausau, Wenzel (Annette) Hayek of Wausau, Corrina (Paul) Silva of Gloucester, VA, Suzette (Michael) Hafner of Hatley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Christine Keen of Perch Lake, Marie Now of Antigo and Caroline "Pat" Verhasselt of Antigo; two sister-in-laws, Connie Hayek of Minnesota and Martha Hayek of Florida.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Rosie Schultz, Dorothy Rank, Idell Price and Helen Brooks; and brothers, Richard and Wenzel Hayek, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 3 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Phlox at a later date.
