Marie Jeanne Eidem
October 28, 1959 - February 16, 2010

Marie Jeanne Eidem, age 50, of Eyota, passed away on February 16, 2010 at Rochester Methodist Hospital after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.Marie was born on October 28, 1959 in Rochester, Minnesota to Elmer and Anita Siegmann. She attended John Marshall High School, graduating in 1977. She married Roger Eidem on April 8, 1978 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minnesota. She attended Rochester VO-Tech and graduated as a medical secretary. She then went on to graduate from Winona State University with a Bachelors degree in computer science. She worked at Mayo Clinic as a computer programmer for 31 years.Marie was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Rochester, Minnesota. She had been a troop leader and organizer for the Eyota chapter of Girl Scouts. She enjoyed reading, auctions, sewing, collecting antiques, fishing, and traveling. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was anticipating the birth of her first grandchild, Niko, this May.Marie is survived by her husband, Roger of Eyota; three daughters, Cassandra Eidem, Pamela (Michael) Peterson, and Christine Eidem, all of Rochester; three sisters, Kathy (David) Rootham of Spring Lake Park, MN, Sharon (Al) Cedar of Arvada, CO, and Roseanne (Mark) Loftus of Kasson, MN; one brother, William (Rose Ann) Siegmann of Hugo, MN; and her mother, Anita Siegmann of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Siegmann of Rochester.The funeral service will be Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 - 3rd Ave SE, Rochester, with the Reverend Anjanette Rist officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery.
