Funeral services for Kathryn Spiess Johnson, 92 of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Fred Rengstorf officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also 1 hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.Kathryn Johnson was born on August 21, 1917 in Hayfield, MN to Albert and Magdelena (Graupman) Spiess. She died on March 20, 2010 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.Kathryn graduated from Rochester High School. She married Elmer A. Johnson on October 9, 1938 in Rochester and Kathryn worked as a secretary for the Rochester Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing and later for the Rochester Methodist Hospital, retiring in 1985. Kathryn enjoyed reading, gardening, crossword puzzles and traveling.Survivors include her son, Lawrence (Patricia) Johnson of Coon Rapids, MN and her daughter, Linnea (Manuel) Piza of St. Cloud, MN; 3 grandchildren, Benjamin Johnson, Michael Piza and Kathryn Piza; her sister, Dorothy Meisky of Three Rivers, CA.
