"I met Shirley through my late husband over 20 years ago. She was my hair stylist as well as good friend for many years until her health interfered. We talked on the phone numerous times a day comparing our years growing up in Finnish families, our children and grandchildren, new recipes and soap operas. Although I had not seen her since last fall, I did have a brief visit with her by phone a week ago. I told "Saima" I loved her and she replied the same. It brings me peace to have been able to reach her. I regret that my husband and I are out of state so will not be able to attend her funeral service. "Rest in peace Shirley." Kathie B."

"Dear Connie, Brian and Jeff,Your Mom and I are third cousins and we grew up together and attented school together all the way through high school. In fact, your Dad and I were classmates. I have such fond memories of our growing up in the rural farming area outside of Houghton. We would ride bikes back and forth to each others homes and to Redridge and the Houghton Canal. We would take saunas at each others homes and take turns spending the night with each other. Your Mom always had a positive outlook and a happy smile for one and all. I only wish we could have lived closer in our adult years. I missed talking with her this past Christmas for that is when we would catch up on what was happening in our lives. My deepest sympathies to you and the world has lost a very good person.Take care and God Bless!Louise Folk Nuttall"
