ROCHESTER - Catherine J. Walser, 88, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Catherine was born in Albert Lea, MN on June 2, 1922 to Joseph and Addie (Clow) Carr. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1939 and then from the University of Minnesota in 1942. Catherine worked at the Olmsted Community Hospital for 33 years. She lived at Samaritan Bethany Heights for 2 years, where she enjoyed many friends and activities. Catherine is survived by two children, Laura (James) Benedict, of Hastings, MN, and Peggy Davies, of Rochester; two grandchildren, Sarah Towey, of Rochester, and Matthew (Amy) Purington, of Ramsey, MN; three great grandchildren, Miranda and Donovan Towey, of Rochester, and Alex Purington, of Ramsey; and one sister, Mary Ellen Baker, of Chino Hills, CA. Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Mary Jo.A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Samaritan Bethany Heights, 1530 Assisi Drive NW, with Rev. Jean Boese officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 until the time of the service at Samaritan Bethany Heights.
