ROCHESTER, MINN: Austin J. Melville, 23, died November 27, 2010 from injuries sustained in a hit and run accident in Rochester, MN.Austin John Melville was born November 2, 1987 to Hilary J. and Sandy A. (Giles) Melville in Rochester, MN. Austin graduated from Century High School in 2006 and as Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Winona State University in May 2010. He worked at HyVee North for eight years and was a referee for RYFA for nine years. Austin was an avid Green Bay Packers fan who studied and was knowledgeable on various sports statistics; especially those surrounding the Packers. He loved music and enjoyed playing the drums and banjo. Austin competed in pistol shooting and was qualified as an expert marksman. He had a learned curiosity about astrophysics; and he also enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.Austin is survived by his parents, Hilary and Sandy Melville, Rochester, MN; his sister Robin Melville, Rochester, MN; his girlfriend, Katie Nord, Glencoe, MN; his paternal grandmother, Yvonne Melville, Fall Creek, WI and his maternal grandparents, Donald and Nancy Giles, Water Valley, MS. He is also survived by cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Garth E. Melville. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and many friends.A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
