Josephine Theresa Eggers
September 4, 1928 - January 3, 2011

ROCHESTER - Josephine "Jo" T. Eggers, 82, died on Monday, January 3, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. Josephine was born in Ada, MN on September 4, 1928 to Frank and Catherine (Byrne) Riepe. She married Jesse Eggers on October 6, 1948 in Ada. Josephine volunteered at Pax Christi Catholic Church. She enjoyed needle pointing, cooking, baking, and gardening. Her nieces and nephews will dearly miss their "Aunt Joey." Josephine was a lovable person and a great teacher to her family. Josephine is survived by three children, Carol (Mike) Zirbes, of Rochester, Mike (Deb) Eggers, of Rochester, and Patrick Eggers, of Rochester; five sisters, Rose Sanden, of Rochester, Agnes Kolb, of Rochester, Cecila Halvorson, of Stewartville, Pauline Toner, of Anaheim, CA, and Fran Bergantine, of Perham, MN; a brother, George Riepe, of Richfield, MN; three grandchildren, Matt (Tina) Zirbes, of Austin, MN, Bradley Zirbes, of Rochester, and Erik (Val) Zirbes, of Kasson; and six great grandchildren.Josephine is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse; her parents; her son, Robert; two sisters, Mary Ann and Clementine; and two brothers, Robert and Raymond.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 4135 18th Ave. NW, with Father Lavern Trocinski officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
