Elizabeth D. Feragen, (Betty), 98, of Rochester, MN. died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Samaritan Bethany Heights in Rochester.Elizabeth Dorothy Evenson was born February 6, 1913 in Wyandott Township, Pennington County Minnesota to James N. Evenson and Agnes Engebritson Evenson. She was baptized and confirmed in Clearwater Lutheran Church. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN in 1932.She was united in marriage to J. Orville Feragen on December 31, 1939.Elizabeth was very active in her church by teaching Confirmation, Sunday school, release time school, vacation Bible school, and she was a Stephen minister. She was involved in her community as a local Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary and she was a District Chaplain, a volunteer at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN, a member of Pennington County Homemakers and was selected as a Woman of Honor by the A.A.U.W. In 1996. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN and enjoyed Bible study, Circle and quilting for Lutheran World relief. She served as Thief River Falls conference and Northern MN District Stewardship Secretary of the A.L.C.Elizabeth is survived by her son, John Feragen of Fargo, ND; daughter, Joyce (Tom) Dickman of Rochester, MN; 3 grandsons, Eric (Colleen) Dickman of Rochester, MN, Andy Dickman of Maple Grove, MN and Chad Grant of Blaine, MN; 2 great-grandsons, Connor and Jadyn Grant of Blaine, MN; great-granddaughter Emily Dickman of Rochester and 9 nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters, Molly and Rachel; 2 brothers, Lee and Wallace; 2 nephews and 1 niece.A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Church 810 3rd Ave. SE, Rochester, MN 55904. Family will receive friends from 1:00pm until time of service at the church. The Rev. Dr. Norman Wahl will be officiating.
