Max Henry Prokasky
August 8, 1919 - April 1, 2011

Oronoco-A Funeral Service for Max (Jack) Prokasky, 91, long time area farmer, who died April 1, 2011 in Tri County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall, Wisconsin will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco on Wednesday April 6th at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Paul Baldauf officiating. Burial will be in the Oronoco Cemetery. Visitation at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester will be on Tuesday evening from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and then at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the Service. Jack was born August 8, 1919 in Dexter, Minnesota and moved to Oronoco as a small boy. He married Dolores (Dolly) Lewis at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, April 25, 1940. He farmed in the Oronoco area most of his life. He was well known for his beef cattle. As a young man, Jack was an avid hunter and baseball player. His pitching skills earned him a trip to a baseball school in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He and his brother, Chris, owned and operated Pollack's Resort on Lake Zumbro, now known as Fisherman's Inn. He was dozer operator for Stolp and Reitman Construction Company and he also worked at Webster's Zumbrota Livestock Auction Market . He was very active in Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco. In addition to being Sunday School Superintendent, he served on the Council for many years. He was instrumental in the building of the new church. He also wrote and published two books about his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially proud when his grandson, Leslie joined him in raising cattle. He moved to Wisconsin to live with his daughter Ginger, in 2007. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters and his beloved wife Dolly of 64 years. He is survived by two daughters; Barbara of Toms River, New Jersey and Ginger Maliszewski (Bill) of Independence, Wisconsin and his 4 Grandchildren; Maria Haack of Minneapolis, Steve Haack of Rochester, Leslie Haack of Oronoco and Shane Haack (Corrie) of Woodbury Minnesota.
