ROCHESTER - Kayla Faith Jackson, 13, died on Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Rochester. Kayla was born in Chicago, IL on August 22, 1997 to Kenneth and Angela (Kaiser) Jackson. She attended Friedell Middle School and Longfellow Elementary School. She participated in 4H Club, Basketball, Percussion, Track and Field, and Ski Club. She was an avid reader and often used computers. She won many awards in sports and looked forward to attending Mayo High School next fall. Kayla is survived by her mother, Angela and brother, Kenard, both of Rochester; two uncles, David, of Mount Vernon, NY, and Richard (Peggy), of Camden, SC; great uncles, Raymond (Genevieve) Adkins, of Chicago, IL and Alphonso Kaiser, of Los Angeles, CA; great aunts, Diane (James) Davis, of Chicago, IL and Carole (Glen) Thompson of Camden, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.Kayla is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; her grandmothers, Sherra Lavender and Hattie Jackson; her grandfather, Leon Kaiser, and her great grandmother, Josephine Adkins.Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. with services to follow at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Autumn Ridge Church, 3611 Salem Rd SW, with Rev. Andy Kumpel officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to RCYBA (Rochester Community Youth Basketball Association) or Friedell Middle School music department in memory of Kayla Jackson.
