Rochester-Funeral Services for Dorothy Mae Zempel, age 89,will be 1:30 P.M. Thursday, May 26, 2011 atRochester Baptist Church 420 11 Av e. N.E.with Reverend Don Noonan officiating.Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4:00 P.M. To 6:00 P.M. At Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and then at the Church from 12:30 P.M.-1:30P.M. On Thursday.Dorothy Mae Livingston was born August 24, 1921 in Rochester, MN. To Stanley J. Livingston and Laura E. (Phelps) Livingston.
She married Bert Zempel, May 8, 1939 in Cresco, Iowa.Mr. Zempel worked for the Rochester Park and Recreational Department until his retirement in 1978.
Dorothy was a stay at home mom and raised her children. She was a member of Rochester Baptist Church.She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and plants, bird watching and was an avid animal lover.Mr. Zempel died December 28, 1998.
Dorothy is survived by 4 daughters, Doris Jean (Mrs Leslie) Hegna of Byron, MN, Darlene D. Zempel,Karyl Ann Zempel, and Lynette M. (Mrs. Jeffry) Olson all of Rochester, MN; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 daughter.
