Edward Richard Boxrud
July 26, 1930 - May 31, 2011

Edward Richard Boxrud, 80, of Rochester died at St. Marys Hospital on Tuesday, May 31st, 2011.A memorial mass will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester on Saturday June 4th at 11am with Father Haremza officiating.There will be a visitation on Friday, June 3rd, from 5-8 P.M. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and a time of sharing at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester and an hour before mass on Saturday at the church. A private burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.

Ed Boxrud was born in Goodhue, Minnesota to Edward and Mayme (Diercks) Boxrud. He grew up in Goodhue and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1947. Ed served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a radar technician.

Ed married Elizabeth (Betty) OReilly in Goodhue, Minnesota at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on June 16, 1956. Ed and Elizabeth lived their married life in Rochester. Ed worked at Bach Music as an electronic technician, Magnavox Television as a sales and technical expert and later for Rite-Way Radio and TV as an electronics technician.In recent years, Ed sold, installed and serviced satellites for Direct TV and Dish Network.

Ed enjoyed playing cards, golf, sports, his family and his grandchildren.He was known for his tall tales and jokes and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Ed is survived by his wife; Elizabeth.

Daughters; Julie Taylor of Rochester, MN.
Jody Boxrud Emberton (Russ) of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.
Lisa Boxrud of Grand Forks, ND.
Grandchildren; Jeff, Rebecca and Mark Taylor, Megan, Molly, Anna and Olivia Boxrud, Josh Jerome, and sister Jeanne Lodermeier of Lake City, MN.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; John, David, Mip, Bob, and Jim and sisters Janice Shultz and Dorothy Boxrud.
