Richard Benjamin Hain
February 19, 1920 - June 11, 2011

ROCHESTER, MINN: Richard Benjamin Hain, 91, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Charter House from complications of a heart attack he suffered on May 30, 2011.

He was born February 19, 1920 in Olmsted County to Carl and Helen (Lawler) Hain. On September 15, 1946 Richard married Ann Marie Edwards and she passed away July 3, 1980. Richard later married Dorothy Hart and she also precedes him in death. He was a graduate of Rochester High School and went on to work for Edwards Sheet Metal before retiring from Alpek Sheet Metal. He was a veteran of the US Army, proudly serving his country during WWII in the European Theatre. Richard was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church and the Rochester Eagles. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, Twins baseball but his main love in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his children, Carolyn (Lynn) DeYoung of Helena, MT, Sharon (Gordon) Scudamore of Rochester, Marilyn (Luverne) Salley of Mantorville, and John (Sharon) Hain of Stewartville; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe (June) Hain of Rochester and a host of other family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; grandson, Bryan; 3 brothers, Carl, Ray and Don Hain.

Funeralservices will be held 10:30am Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until time of service. Private family interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Eagles Cancer Telethon in care of the Eagles Club 917 15th Ave. SE, Rochester, MN 55904 or to the Rochester Reading Center 847 5th St. N.W.Rochester, MN 55901.
