June 21, 1920 - January 19, 2012
ROCHESTER:Richard W. Timm, 91, of Rochester, died Thursday, January 19, 2012,
at Samaritan Bethany Home on 8th.
Richard was born June 21, 1920, in Butternut, Wisconsin to Edwin and
Meta (Boettcher) Timm. On June 14, 1947 he married June Holt in
Butternut, Wisconsin.
Richard served in the US Army in WW II.
Richard owned and operated the Buttenut Lumber and Hardware for many
years. After selling his business he drove a bulk milk truck for the
Butternut Creamery. Later he was a rural mail carrier for the US
Postal Service. He was active in many church organizations. He
served his community as Village President and on the Volunteer Fire
Department. He was also an Ashland County Jury Commissioner for many
years.
Richard enjoyed working outdoors and took pride in his yard and
garden. He liked using his saw to cut down trees and working in his
workshop. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and
especially enjoyed teasing them.
Richard is survived by his wife, June; daughters, Natalie Timm, Lynne
(David) Frantz, Gretchen (Hiromu) Aoki, and Kristine (Wayne) Boettger;
grandchildren, Thomas, Ben, and Anna Aoki, Eric Frantz, Emily and Paige
Boettger; sisters, Margaret Engel and Beulah Collins. Richard was
preceeded in death by his parents; his son, Thomas; and his sister,
Edwina Martinson.
Funeral services will beheld at 2 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Heidorn officiationg.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Butternut, Wisconsin.
Memorials are preferred to The Lutheran Hour Ministry.
