Violet Melvina Waadevig
August 26, 1926 - April 1, 2012

Violet Melvina Waadevig age 85 formerly of Rochester and a resident the past few years at Choosen Valley Retirement Community in Chatfield, passed away April 1, 2012 in St. Marys Hospital.

Born August 26, 1926 in Rushford to Clarence R. & Olia (Hatleli) Olson.She married Morris L. Waadevig on March 18, 1947 in Lanesboro and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2001.They were longtime members of Zumbro Lutheran Church.She worked 20 years at SuperValu Grocery in Rochester retiring in the late 1970's.She also was a daycare provider for many years after her retirement.

She is survived by a brother: Darold Olson (June) of Stillwater and a sister: Vivian Horan (Terry) of St. Paul.And 15 Nieces and Nephews, and a sister-in-law: Signa Sorenson (Robert) of Chatfield.She was preceded in death by her husband, and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel with Pastor Shelley Cunningham of Zumbro Lutheran Church officiating.Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.Friends may call one hour before the services on Thursday at the funeral home.

"I"m sadden to learn of Vi's passing, I wish I would have known earlier I would have attended her funeral.  I so remember growing up down the street from her and Morri.....He drove that old 50's blue car....They both took in me and my family during the flood of 78'  I still have many fond memories of her....RIP Vi...you are now with Morri"
