"My prayers go out to everyone. It was a blessing for me to be friends with Brian for all these years. We were always around for each other whenever needed. We got on each other's nerves and we made each other laugh. I'm so sorry I didn't get to see brian but we spoke until he wasn't able to very well. I got to tell him I loved him which he acknowledged. I will miss him very much. He was my best buddy! RIP buddy! Prayers to Sue, Jason and Steph!"

"McCoy Family, I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Brian's illness and passing.  A young life taken before his time.  My deepest sympathies to the entire family.   Jean Laging and Clifford Laging"

Luke Hafdahl wrote on Apr 28, 2015:

"Brian is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable individuals I have had a chance to meet or care for. He was given a devastating diagnosis at such a young age, but the grace and the positivity with how he handled it was nothing short of aspirational. I will miss him on a personal level as well, as I very much enjoyed discussing family and racing with him during his office visits."

Wanda (Ryan) Fjerstad wrote on Apr 28, 2015:

"The Brian McCoy family, My thoughts and prayers to you all during this difficult time.  Brian and I graduated together from Kasson Mantorville High School.  Brian always has something to say that would make Sheryl (Olson) Vanassee and I laugh out loud in Government class and get us in trouble.  Whenever her and I got (get) together, we always mentioned Brian and how much fun we had with him in high school and how good it would be to see him.  So very sorry we never got the chance.  With heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.  Wanda (Ryan) Fjerstad"

"So thankful to have known Brian and worked with him. He always had a smile on his face no matter what. He was genuinely a super guy. He gave so much of himself without ever expecting anything in return. He fought a good hard fight. It was an honor doing the ice bucket challenge with him and walking in his ALS walk. My deep condolences go out to his wife Sue and to his whole family. Rest in Peace Brian. You are in good hands."
