"I miss you and love you, Little Sis. ??'-"
I am an eternal optimist and over time have become almost indestructible as far as spirit. No matter how crappy things get, I am almost always having fun- After all, the alternative is just not me. -Shannon S. Devine
An eternal optimist with an indestructible spirit, Shannon, 46, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Born in Winona, MN, Shannon attended Cotter High School and St. Mary's University. She found love and married Bill Pringle. They started their journey in Winona, MN, then to Lewiston, MN, and even briefly lived in Hawaii. Eventually, their hearts led them back home to Winona. Together they raised two children, Kendra and Oliver, her pride and joy.
Shannon dedicated her free time to help educate, support, and raise awareness for tick borne illnesses by creating a local support group, Winona Lyme, after being diagnosed with Lyme disease herself.
In 2016 things changed. Shannon was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer. True to her spirit, a wojowniczka (Polish for fighter), Shannon underwent aggressive treatment at Mayo Clinic and yet, continued to blog, continued to work, continued to make jewelry for people across the country, and continued to raise her family. Throughout it all, updating everyone about her children's adventures and successes gave her the most joy and the biggest smile.
Shannon is survived by her two children, Oliver and Kendra (Noah Buxengard) Pringle along with their father Bill Pringle of Winona, MN; her mother and stepfather, Marte and Perry Knopick of Fountain City, WI; siblings Peter Knopick of Winona, MN, Angel (Dusty) Strasburg of Rochester, MN, and Cris (James Banks) Devine of Hawaii; and many supportive friends and extended family. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Mike Devine.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for the expert medical attention and compassionate care Shannon received.
Friends and family are invited to remember Shannon and celebrate her life at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, MN on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. Memorials to the family are preferred.
When I would see something scary, my mother would say to me, Look for the helpers. You will always find somebody who's trying to help. - Fred Rogers

She sounds like someone I would loved to be friends with. I am sure she will be sorely missued as well as fondly and lovingly remembered. "
"A daughter, a sister, a friend, that's how I came to think of Bips. You brought together such a unique group of people and I will forever be grateful. The world is a little darker without you in it. Rest in peace, sweet Bippy. "
