In loving memory of

William 'Bill' Dodds
January 27, 2006

William "Bill" Dodds was born on May 6, 1914, in Union Township, near Lone Rock, Iowa, to William I. and Anna Kueck Dodds. He received his education in the country school in Union Township. After his schooling, Bill helped his parents on the farm. On August 1, 1939, Bill was married to Frances Winkel at the St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona, Iowa. The couple moved to Frances's parents' farm in Union Township near Algona, where they lived and farmed until moving to Algona in 1975. Bill stayed active in the farming operation until 2004.

Bill and Frances were members of the St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Bill was active in the Knights of Columbus, where he became a 4th Degree Knight. When his children were growing up, Bill was very active in 4-H. He also belonged to the Farm Bureau, and, after moving to town, became a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed farming, but his greatest love on the farm was his horses. He enjoyed raising Tennesse Walker horses and driving his horse buggy. He also was active in participating in donkey chariot races throughout the area. Bill and Frances loved to travel and visited many states and countries. His greatest love, however, was traveling all over the country watching his grandchildren participate in all of their activities. He also enjoyed visiting with his many friends and family.

Bill became a resident of the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona in March of 2005. He died there on Friday, January 27, 2006, at the age of 91.
