Lillie S. Hanson

Lillie Sylvia Hanson was born at Wesley, Iowa, on March 23, 1922, the daughter of Julius and Anna (Pearson) Hanson. She attended grade school at District #5 near Wesley, attended high school in Algona then graduated from Titonka High School in 1938. She then took a business course at A.I. B. in Des Moines.

Lillie worked for the Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo, Iowa a few years and spent many years working for Montgomery Ward in Mason City. She retired and cared for her aging mother until her mother's death. She continued to live on the Hanson family farm until her recent fall. She loved her God, her church and her family and was meticulous in all that she did. She enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning.

Lillie departed this life on May 11, 2007, as the result of a hip fracture and resulting complications. She was 85 years old at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton and Andrew and one niece Cathy Hofbauer. She leaves to mourn the loss, three sisters, Evelyn Heesch, Julia Giesking and Burdine Hofbauer, sister-in-law, Ruth Hanson, brother-in-law, Harold Hofbauer and many nieces and nephews.
