Edward Kenyon, 85, of Whittemore, died Friday at Good Samaritan Society - Algona.

Edward John Kenyon was born October 25, 1922, at Turin, Iowa, to Albert and Margaret (Kyne) Kenyon. He graduated from Rodman High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames. On January 30, 1951, Ed was united in marriage to Marjorie Lickteig in Wesley, Iowa. He was a dairy farmer his entire life. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family by following the music and sporting events of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed Irish music, baseball, ballroom dancing and later in life spent time woodworking and playing golf. Faith, family and being a farmer were the three most important things in his life. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Marge of Whittemore, son Richard and wife Genene of Gardner, Kansas, daughter Pat and husband Craig Hand of Maxwell, Iowa, son Ron and wife Colleen of Whittemore, Iowa, son Don and wife Marita of Storm Lake, Iowa, daughter Betty and husband Steven Black of Denton, Texas, son Bill and wife Nancy of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and son Tim and wife Darla of Minnetonka, Minnesota. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as sister Ina Weishaar of Ayrshire, Iowa, sister Eileen and husband John Molitor of Ruthven, Iowa and brother Kenneth Kenyon of Emmetsburg, Iowa. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lyle, sister Erma, two children, Charles and Anthony, brother-in-law, Leonard Weishaar and sister-in-law, Margaret Kenyon.
