Bobby Lee Lancaster was born June 25, 1943 in Riverside, California, son of Hardy and Doris (Lamb) Lancaster. He grew up in Brookings, Oregon where he graduated from Brookings Harbor High School in 1961.
Following school, Bobby worked in the logging industry and as a commercial salmon fisherman. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Bormann on November 21, 1981 in Port Orford, Oregon. They remained in that area until 1994 when they moved to Whittemore. Bobby then worked as a driver for American Concrete in Algona.
Bobby's greatest joy was his wife and his two daughters. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, home repairs, and watching sports, especially the Yankees. He also enjoyed cooking and creating his own pepper seasoning mix and salsa.
Bobby L. Lancaster died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at his residence in Whittemore following a year long battle with esophageal cancer. He was 64.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca of Whittemore, two daughters, Melissa of Algona and Holly, a student at ISU in Ames; his sister, Cheryl Conrad of Coos Bay, OR; his father-in-law, Vern Bormann of Whittemore; one brother-in-law Jim Bormann and his wife Bonnie of Plano, TX; three sisters-in-law, Kitty Schneider and her husband Tim of Cylinder, Julie Block and her husband Rex of Baudette, MN, and Mary Allen and her husband Jim of Apple Valley, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother-in-law, Zita Bormann.
