Bettie Butsch Dell, 92, of Indianapolis, died on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Community Hospital North. Bettie was born in Indianapolis on October 27, 1920, to Frank J. Butsch, Jr. and Edith Kilbourne Butsch. She attended IPS 70 and Shortridge High School and was graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1939. Bettie married George A. Dell on May 1, 1943. She worked at Paul C. Pratt Photography Studio in Broad Ripple Village and L.S. Ayres & Co. Photo Reflex Department downtown as a young adult. She was the Executive Secretary to the local manager of Siemens for nearly thirty years, retiring in the late 1980s. Bettie and her late husband George also operated a booth at the Olde Shadeland Antique Mall for many years. She enjoyed playing cards and board games. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Richard V. Butsch; nephew, John Austin Butsch; and nieces, Gloria Butsch Everhart and Catharine Butsch Newland. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Frances Dell Warn Slodden (Mrs. Ainslie) and Gloria Tomlinson Butsch Bulger (Mrs. John L., Sr.); her nieces Sharon Butsch Freeland (Michael) and Kristin L. Butsch of Indianapolis and Maria L. Valentine (Camille Goode) of Los Angeles, California; her nephew George E. Butsch (Elizabeth) of Tustin, California; and her faithful canine companion, Ceci.
